John’s alter ego comes to life in his first book for coaches and creative business owners.

Behold the ‘Map*’ that helps you cross the treacherous land as a successful coach or creative business owner.

These methods can potentially help you as much as 10X your business, and hit your stride as a creator and service provider as you finally go…

(*yep, a map. The business lessons are covered as you navigate through five ‘Lands’!)

These methods have been used to grow my own businesses in retail, health and wellness, gyms, and coaching. Not to mention dozens of coaches and creative business owners who have deployed these to grow their businesses over time as much as 2x, 3x, 5x and even 10x.

Now you can use these tried and tested strategies in your business - no matter what kind of coaching or creative business you have, all from the comfort of your very own desk.

Dear creator,

If you want to know how you can grow almost any coaching or creative business, in any industry… and have your customers and clients looking forward to you selling to them… then this letter will show you how.

Here’s the story…

About twelve years ago, I walked out of a prestigious job as an Aerospace Engineer. I had no idea where to go, but I knew I wasn’t meant to be there. Anyway, I got a part time job stacking boxes and selling shoes, and soon opened up my own shoe store. I floundered for a while, then a mentor taught me direct sales. From there, we slowly started to build. After growth, then near bankruptcy, then a rebuild (and sale), we moved to Melbourne for our next business.

(yep, store still thrives in Sydney…)

This second time, it was a gym.

Once more, early struggles, but soon we learned what we needed to. In particular, relationship building (awful as an introvert to start). Again we grew the business, before selling that one five years later also.

(Yep, it’s still running too).

Over this time, I kept studying and learning a lot of the “old school” marketing and sales methods.

Some of the stuff went back almost a hundred years (to the great copywriters) but still works today. While the landscape has changed (especially digitally), physchology we have stayed pretty much the same.

(Don’t forget, it’s 2022 and people are hoarding toilet paper…)

Anyway, I learned to adapt these methods to online businesses (which are actually HARDER to grow, not easier).

And now, after working with dozens (well over 100) of small businesses and helping them on their growth journey, we built Creator Club, a private coaching community for coaches and creative business owners. But I wanted other small business owners to be able to access this stuff as well.

So, I took a few of the KEY focus areas, and put them into a book: ‘all in.’

The first “Land” in the book is the most critical (where most newbies trip up), and reflects the title of the book.

This is the ‘Land of Commit…’

The seven KEY focus areas to cross the Land of Commit will help you ‘get off the fence,’ and establish yourself as a successful, sustainable coach or creative business. Here are a few of the things we cover in this first part.

+ The mistake of goal setting ‘naysayers’, and what it says about their overall view of the world. Page 23

+ Why Michael Schumacher’s ability to not “pussyfoot” around was critical in his F1 racing career - and how to adapt this to your goal setting. Page 23

+ 10 open ended ‘Vision’ questions that can help you clarify your vision as a coach or creative (even when no one else can write your vision for you). Page 28

+ How a world champ triathlete won the Ironman world title in part by flipping his vision into a succinct goal (and what the difference is, and how you can apply this to your business growth). Page 31

+ Why Walt Disney drove “pressure” UP when he was building his empire, and why you need to do this in your business too (while staying healthy). Page 37.

+ And the list goes on…

Also:

I’ve used the strategies and methods from Part 1 - the Land of Commit to get results in a ton of areas in life. It’s how I met and married my wife of eight years. It’s the same approach I used to get to the Ironman triathlon world championships in Hawaii in my first year in the sport. I also use this mindset daily for training and business. Clients have used these methods, to create new businesses, and also part of a strategy to grow from 25-30k per month up to ~70k per month.

Anyway, the thing is,

Most people don’t commit.

They get stuck on the fence, without a plan, wallowing in doubt. This is totally natural, and part of the human condition for a lot of us, myself included (protection mechanism). But still, we must override it if we want to grow a business. Then we see it’s actually much safer to go all in.

This is why the Land of Commit is the first part of the book called…

…Why do I say the ‘Land’ of Commit is only the first ‘part’ of the book?

Because there are more elements we need to grow a coaching or creative business over time. And this is the case whether you’re in:

  • Life coaching

  • Health coaching

  • Physiotherapy

  • Pilates teaching

  • Movement coaching

  • Photography/videography

  • Business coaching

  • Osteopathy

  • Personal training

  • Gym owner

  • Design/branding/illustration

  • Architecture

And more…

(these are some of the businesses that have used these methods)

But it’s not enough to “just” be committed…

We need to ‘Clarify’ what your business is about, ‘Connect’ with dream clients (both online and offline) and ‘Enrol’ people into work with you. For each of these ‘Lands’ there are various lessons I’ve taken from over ten modules, and twenty-six workbooks in Creator Club, our private small business coaching program. These “directors cuts” that I’ve distilled down for the book reveal key steps to help you create fun and engaging marketing, sales that feel easy, and a bulletproof mindset that’s set up for the long haul of business. When you apply the lessons from this book not only will you LOOK FORWARD to working both in and on your business each day…

Your Dream Clients will Literally Look Forward to Buying From You!

Here are a few examples of other methods you will learn:

+ How to side-step the ‘beginners dilemma’ as a coach (you want cash flow and clients, but if you say yes to everyone, you stunt your growth). Page 50

+ Five steps to outline the “story” you are creating with your business. In Creator Club this is the Business Story Statement, and is a fundamental part of your messaging, copywriting et cetera (page 57-67)

+ A clear path to master your messaging, by introducing your belief statement and authority statement - clearly showing why people would want to work with you and not anyone else. (Page 61)

+ How to identify the “emotional turning point” for your dream client so that your service is seen as an obvious solution (Page 63)

+ How to find “High Value” offers as a coach or creative business. Page 66

+ The two most dangerous marketing ideas for coaches or creative business owners that can stomp out any business growth. Page 74

+ Lesson from master copywriter on why we NEVER try to create demand, or force action, but rather use engaging stories to ‘channel’ demand. Page 76.

OK, let’s chill for a sec, and talk about this last point…

If you’re already up and running, and either sending emails or doing social media, turn straight to page 77. There you’ll find out how just reading a story about strength training in 2010 from a local CrossFit box owner not only got me interested in strength, but set me off on a new path of founding a gym, growing and selling it five years later...

I learned how the MOST COMPELLING marketing and sales is done through story, entertainment, and engaging, non-teaching content.

Unless you’re “pole position” in your industry, then you can massively improve your email and social engagement through understanding the buying cycle and using story-based content…

If this is the case then again…

This part of the book could be the most important shift you make to your ‘thinking’ about marketing.

OK, here’s what else you’ll read about in this book:

+ Why (unless you are a WORLD class copywriter) you need an opt-in if you want to grow an email list, and how to come up with a simple “one step” opt in for your business (simple works best). Page 82

+ How we grow our email list with the worlds simplest opt-in that (at time of writing) converts at 7.5% (popup) and over 20% on the landing page. See page 84.

+ How to “network” so it’s not slimy, AND works even great for an introvert (not just the ‘fake’ introverts. A lot of people claim introvert status, because of course the greatest minds are introverts, but they really aren’t). See pages 96-99

+ The three jobs your website must do in order to actually work (this is FAR more simple than most people can imagine). See page 105

+ How to ‘speak clearly’ both on your online platforms, but also in real life (not ‘designed’ as dating advice, but CERTAINLY would help a lot of guys out there - I can’t speak for women). See page 109

+ How to ‘build rapport’, BUT why I only spend up to 10% of the call or conversation time on this, in order to maintain the ‘frame’ of the call. See page 117

+ How to structure a message as a coach or creative business (writing, video, audio - it doesn’t matter), so that it makes sense. AFTER it’s clear, then you can juice it up with a lil’ bit of your personality. See page 123

+ Why “neediness” is the modern day Achilles heel of online businesses (and also destroys relationship hopes for guys, but that’s another matter), and how to conquer neediness once and for all. See page 139

True story...

Once I started to understand how ‘neediness’ works (including the ‘need to be needed’) and eradicated it from my life, not only did business start to grow much faster, but my relationships got lots better.

There are many more secrets and ideas inside this book, but you get the idea.

OK, here’s the deal:

“all in” is a 151-page book (with no pdf, no video, no audiobook, no kindle versions available, and not available through Amazon, or other big business retailers.)

The book costs $59 - with free shipping worldwide.

But, before you buy it, realise:

There are no refunds.

All sales are final.

If you aren’t sure, just don’t buy it, that’s cool. There’s a ton of free content I’ve created over the years on the podcasts, downloads and emails.

But if you’re keen, but a little unsure if it’s “worth it” and want some reassurance that the ideas and information in the book is helpful…

Here’s what Toby Morrison (founder and head of CFS Health who I’ve worked with for two years as he’s scaled his coaching business significantly) has to say:

“If I look over the last twenty months of working with John, my business has changed so much for the better. A lot of it down to Kohn’s way of looking at the world. And asking better questions. And making me think differently. He’s kind of ahead of his time - most business coaches are just about profit, and how to make money “fast” and they totally miss the point of the reason why you start a business.”

OK, that’s enough chatter.

“I got so much out of All In that I wanted to take the time to write you a quick testimonial to say thankyou. I'm happy for you to use my name attached to it.

As a coach who has been stuck on the starting line for a long time, this book has been a life raft for me.

Just by implementing each step as I read it I've already signed 4 new clients, and turned down another who didn't fit the bill.

The clarity I've found in following the processes in this book has helped me finally overcome the initial overwhelm of starting a coaching business, but I also now have a realistic roadmap for the long haul ahead. This book is much needed signal in a sea of business-guru noise. Thanks again” - Michael
